歌曲由來

士兵之歌(Soldiers Song)全文包含3個小段和一節(jié)副歌。它的詞作者是Peadar Kearney，曲作者是Peader Kearney和Patrick Heeney。1916年由在G.P.O的起義軍唱出， 因此出名。1926年，其中的副歌被正式采用作為愛爾蘭國歌。國歌的一段(由最后5小節(jié)前的4小節(jié)組成)也代表向總統(tǒng)致敬(Presidential Salute)。
